Elemonials (Icelandic diary excerpt, 2016 - ongoing)

Elemonials (evoking elements and rituals) originates from a very vivid dream I had on arrival in Iceland, where all the photographs were taken. It hints at an essence common to and connected with all things on Earth, and life itself.
Its main subject – water in various formations – manifests everywhere at the same time. Its ethereal nature closely reflects and corresponds to the transitions of the human mind – whether on personal or collective level – thus rendering our deep unconscious visible.
This realisation and the awe inspired by my surroundings heightened my awareness of the present, overspilling time and space and leading me to a blissful nothing: a mirroring state – a meditation on a half-forgotten world – the primordial miracle – being(s) human and otherwise – the sense state before time, before birth.
